Scouting Report
Davon Booth left high school with an impressive dual-threat skill set and a three-star ranking, but he chose to start his college career at Cerritos College. After emerging as one of JUCO's top running backs during his sophomore season, Booth transferred to Utah State, where he quickly proved he could succeed in the FBS. He leveled up again the following season, this time from the Mountain West to the SEC. He became an immediate focal point of Mississippi State's offense and a reliable kick returner over the next two seasons.
Booth is a very instinctual runner. While he lacks impressive top-end speed, he excels at navigating traffic, finding creases, and waiting for his blocks to set up. He's dependable as a receiver as well, working both as a checkdown and a designed route runner. Booth's ability to shoulder a workload is impressive, as he's logged at least ten games and 130 touches in each of his last five seasons. He's been a long-term workhorse without wearing down. Booth lacks some of the explosiveness NFL teams crave, but he's versatile enough to potentially find a role in a rotation.
Rundown
Booth has a knack for finding yards where other backs can't, but his capped long speed could keep him from being a three-down back in the NFL.
