Scouting Report

Deion Burks was a late riser in high school and a three-star commit to Purdue, which had built a strong pipeline with Detroit-area schools. His first two seasons were quiet, as Purdue built their attack around David Bell, then Charlie Jones. Burks stepped up in his third season, leading the team in receiving before hitting the portal. He cited the opportunity to win big games and develop his mental game as the reason he chose Oklahoma. He battled a thigh injury, a concussion, and a tragic off-field situation with his parents' house burning down in 2024. He continued to endure his final season, delivering his best game for Oklahoma in his final home game and acknowledging the difficulty of his journey postgame.

Despite modest production, Burks has the eye of NFL scouts. He was a two-time member of Bruce Feldman's Freak List, earning recognition in both the Purdue and Oklahoma programs for his athletic prowess. He is an elite vertical threat, where his quickness and top-end speed shine. He blends that with strength, creating issues for defenders after the catch. Burks is an intriguing prospect with upside that fits the mold of the developmental bets NFL teams often make.

Rundown

Deion Burks is a two-time Bruce Feldman's Freaks List member who blends explosive speed with rare strength for his size. He struggled to post high-end production, dealing with injuries and adversity throughout his college career.
