Scouting Report
Jalon Daniels has plenty of college football experience, having played almost 50 games. Originally a three-star recruit, Daniels received offers from only two Power Five (at the time) schools. He committed to Kansas for the 2020 season and started six games for the winless program. In 2021, he lost the camp battle, but the starting quarterback was injured halfway through the season, so Daniels stepped in. He was the Jayhawks' clear starter through 2025, but battled back and shoulder injuries along the way. Daniels is Kansas' all-time leading quarterback rusher and second all-time in passing yards and touchdowns. He was a Shrine Bowl participant and included on many risers lists.
Daniels has enough arm talent to get by, but his tape is riddled with erratic footwork and ball placement. He's mobile enough to be the center of an option-style attack, but his limited deep-ball ability, combined with his height, will remove him from some draft boards completely. He handled pressure well in 2025, and some of his best throws were into tight windows just as he was getting smacked in the pocket.
Rundown
Daniels is a highly experienced quarterback with mobility and a playing style that makes him a prime candidate for teams looking for a smooth transition if they need a backup.
