Scouting Report

Jordyn Tyson led Colorado in receiving as a true freshman in 2022 and transferred to Arizona State after Deion Sanders was hired. Tyson has hinted about the departure, suggesting he was not wanted, though the two made amends late in 2025. Tyson's 2023 season was lost due to a torn ACL, MCL, and PCL suffered late in 2022. He broke out in 2024, serving as the top receiver for a CFP squad built around running back Cam Skattebo. Tyson missed the CFP, suffering a collarbone injury late in 2024. He battled hamstring injuries in 2025, raising further questions about his durability. Tyson comes from a family of athletes; his brother Jaylon is in his second season with the NBA's Cleveland Cavaliers, while his brother Berron and his father both played college football.

Tyson is a dynamic receiver built on versatility. He offers excellent fluidity for his size and showcases creativity after the catch. At ASU, he operated outside and in the slot, primarily in the short and intermediate areas, living on crossers, schemed opportunities, and working back to the ball. He does not possess elite speed, especially at the NFL level, though his suddenness can mask those concerns. A more powerful Jerry Jeudy is an interesting comparison with a herky-jerky movement style as the basis. Tyson blends elements of Jakobi Meyers and Rome Odunze into a powerful package capable of serving as a go-to NFL receiver.

Rundown

Tyson is a fluid, powerful receiver who can serve as a primary option in a modern NFL passing attack. He excels in the short and intermediate areas while possessing the ball skills and body control to attack all three levels.
