Scouting Report

Nicholas Singleton was a five-star recruit out of high school, lauded for his blend of size, speed, and strength. He drew offers from almost every major program, ultimately choosing Penn State. Over the last four years, he's been the lightning to Kaytron Allen's thunder. An early-season 2025 injury to Penn State's quarterback, Drew Allar, allowed defenses to load the box. In response, the team leaned a bit more on Allen, and Singleton saw slight dips in usage and efficiency. Still, he leaves Penn State as their all-time touchdown leader and a top NFL prospect. Unfortunately, Singleton broke his foot during a Senior Bowl practice and will likely miss the combine and offseason workouts as he recovers.

Singleton is known for his game-breaking speed, but his impressive size and physical running shouldn't be ignored. He's a one-cut runner who can slash through tight holes and get behind defenses before they realize what happened. He gets to his top speed almost immediately, quickly flipping the field. Singleton isn't a nuanced receiver and runs a limited route tree, but his speed in the open field makes him a weapon in space. Singleton's vision can be blurry at times, sometimes missing cutback lanes or misreading blitzers. Singleton's dip in 2025 is a concern, but his skill set as a potential three-down back with big-play upside should help him find a role in the NFL.

Rundown

Singleton carried his five-star recruiting tag to Penn State, where he had an impressive collegiate career, and hopes to maintain that pedigree as a game-breaking three-down back in the pros.
