Panthers RB AJ Dillon (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Eagles after missing the entire week of practice. Philadelphia is one of Dillon's former teams.

Panthers RBs AJ Dillon and Tre Tyus moved up a spot this week and will have bigger roles in Sunday's game against the Browns after the injury to RB Jonathon Brooks. Both backs are ready to help fill in for Brooks in multiple ways. Brooks was placed on injured reserve on Wednesday after undergoing core muscle surgery.
Brooks headed to IR for core muscle surgery, Ekeler set for workout
Panthers RB Jonathon Brooks will undergo core muscle surgery and miss at least six weeks, per ESPN, and Carolina will place him on injured reserve. Brooks left the team's 34-3 Week 2 win over the Falcons with what was deemed a groin injury and was seen walking with a heavy limp afterward. The 23-year-old has now battled multiple significant injuries since his final season at Texas, including two ACL tears, and has played just five games over the last three seasons. With Brooks out, Chuba Hubbard has been the clear top back in Carolina, and Aaron Wilson of KPRC2 reports that RB Austin Ekeler is scheduled to work out for the Panthers on Wednesday.
