De'Zhaun Stribling

He is quickly looking like a key piece in the 49ers' offense but his popularity and ADP is rising, almost too far. As long as Mike Evans is in the picture, he likely won't be as big of a gem as some think. Plus, George Kittle should improve health wise as the season progresses thus limiting Stribling's volume. 

Ricky Pearsall's season-ending knee surgery, combined with a buzzworthy start to training camp and the preseason, has put the first pick of the second round squarely on the redraft radar. He's in the right offense to leverage his speed after the catch and belongs inside the first 100 picks.

Stribling has size, speed, and excellent blocking ability. The last part was a massive reason why the 49ers coveted him. 

OTAs often make big/fast receivers with jump-ball skills look the part early on. The real differentiator between OTA star and opening day contributor is route running, especially being on the same page with the quarterback. 

If Stribling can do this well, and Brock Purdy has commented early in training camp that he already trusts Stribling's routes, he could emerge as WR3 for the 49ers in Week 1.

If he can't, Christian Kirk and Demarcus Robinson are good enough to keep Stribling on the bench until the rookie makes progress. 

Even if Stribling starts, it will be in the Jauan Jennings role. However, Jennings wouldn't have earned the production he did if Mike Evans, Ricky Pearsall, and George Kittle could stay healthy.

Stribling has better long-term intrigue than short-term value. Monitor to see if that assessment changes in August.
