Tight Ends seem to be playing well at the age George Kittle finds himself at, but at some stage he slows down. The 49ers dont seem to have many options to take playing time away so as long as he is fit, he should be productive.

The cagey veteran showed last season he hasn't lost a step. The WR depth chart ensures he'll remain one of Purdy's top options.

He is one of the top 3 tight ends in the league, and he could see more involvement with Deebo Samuel out of the picture and Brandon Aiyuk still recovering from a major ACL injury.

Entering the 2022 season, Kittle had a reputation among the fantasy community as an oft-injured player who had missed 14 games between 2019-21.

Fast-forward to 2025 and Kittle has only missed three games in the past three years. For the past two seasons, Kittle has averaged 92 targets, 71.5 catches, 1063 yards, and 7 scores.

With Brandon Aiyuk tending to a torn ACL, Kittle is the most proven option in the 49ers passing game. Expect Kittle to benefit from the binds he and a healthy Christian McCaffrey will create for opposing linebackers and safeties.

Elite tight ends have a history of sustaining fantasy starter production into their mid-30s. Kittle is a safe bet as a top-five tight end.

He ranked 10th in the entire league, including wide receivers, in receiving yards per game (77.1) last season. He's an elite stud in a great offense.

He was excellent in 2024, but you have to wonder how much of that was the lack of Brandon Aiyuk and Christian McCaffrey. Both will be back this year, and he could take a step back. He's still a top-5 TE, he's just not in the same tier as the top guys.

He deserves to be mentioned in the same conversation as Trey McBride and Brock Bowers. His metrics and per-game production are on that level, with less volume. Once you consider the state of San Francisco's wide receivers, the volume doesn't seem outside the realm of possibilities. He's a top-three option who can realistically finish as the TE1.

Kittle is aging but has the ability to provide three more years of production pending health.

An elite fantasy TE, but nearing the end of elite productivity.

Is there any player who demonstrates the difference between TE and WR ages more than Kittle? If he were a WR, he'd be buried in my ranks just based on age. But he's a tight end, so he remains a top-10 option.

George Kittle ready to play more seasons

San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle said he believes he will continue his career until it feels no longer fun to play. 'I don't know, I think if I get to 35 and it hurts to put pants on in the morning, I think I'll be like, 'Ah, this isn't that much fun anymore,' and I'll have a conversation with myself. But I'm feeling great right now,' Kittle said.

George Kittle may see more targets

San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle may receive more routes this upcoming season because the team can use TE Luke Farrell as a blocking tight end in two-tight end sets, according to general manager John Lynch.
