Matt Waldman
McCarthy has a starter ceiling, but his decision-making in the red zone and black zone must mature and he has streaky accuracy. Kyler Murray likely begins the season as a starter and looks much better on paper, but his execution in games has been lacking long-term.
Murray doesn't spread the ball around in meaningful, impactful ways to help the team win. His pocket management is also lacking efficiency. He's great at buying time outside the pocket, but forces his teammates to work harder than necessary. This creates inefficient and high-risk solutions.
Expect McCarthy to get another shot to start by midseason if Murray isn't dominating.
