I am not planning on Rachaad White playing this week as he is getting treatment for a shoulder injury. The Commanders immediately signed Austin Ekeler back to the team. Jacory Croskey-Merritt should see an uptick in work in a very good match-up. In a season he has looked less than satisfactory, a good game with the Colts could get him on the right track.

For 11 games last season Croskey-Merrett couldn't beat 38 rushing yards. He did look good in most of the other six games, but will need more consistency this season to keep a role. Seventh round running backs don't tend to be productive for long, so Croskey-Merrett will need to defy expectations.

Marcus Mariota throws three TDs in upset of Seahawks, JSN posts 128 yards and two scores
Commanders QB Marcus Mariota completed 19-of-31 passes for 183 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's 33-31 win over the Seahawks, his first start in place of the injured QB Jayden Daniels. Mariota threw TDs to RB Rachaad White (6 yards), WR Treylon Burks (11 yards) and WR Terry McLaurin (30 yards), who finished with six catches for 77 yards, while RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt ran 19 times for 36 yards. Seahawks QB Sam Darnold, back after missing last week's game with an injury, went 31-of-45 for 379 yards with four touchdowns and two interceptions, including a pick-six by LB Kain Medrano; WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba caught 10 passes for 128 yards and two TDs, and WR Cooper Kupp added a late score. Daniels, who dislocated his elbow last week against the Cowboys, is expected back in three weeks or sooner and will play with a brace, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported.
Croskey-Merritt cleared to play Week 1
Adam Schefter reports that Commanders RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt (groin), OLB Odafe Oweh (calf) and OLB K'Lavon Chaisson are all "cleared to play" for the season opener at Philadelphia.
