Jake Ferguson

Ferguson sits behind George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb as Dak Prescott’s third target, but his steady volume and high red-zone usage still keep him in the mix as a potential weekly fantasy starter.

Ferguson looks like a lock to remain Dallas' starter and a highly targeted option in the Cowboys' passing game. There is an enhanced opportunity for Ferguson to lose some of his fantasy luster if rookie Michael Trigg plays to his potential this year. 

Trigg has good hands, acrobatic skill, and early-round athletic ability as a pass-catching tight end. Trigg has matchup potential against man-to-man coverage that Ferguson lacks. 

Trigg also fell out of the draft because, for most of his college career, Trigg's immaturity made him difficult to work with. The fact that Trigg acknowledged this behavior after the NFL Draft and thanked Baylor's staff for sticking with him and pushing back on early behavior he exhibited at USC and Ole Miss is noteworthy. 

If Trigg has turned a corner as a young adult, he could gain ground at Ferguson's expense. Don't count on it this year, but monitor Ferguson's camp before you lock into him at his current value in August drafts.
