Josh Jacobs

Jacobs had a career year on many fronts in his first year in Green Bay. Some of his Las Vegas numbers are a product of his environment. With the Packers he was pure high class. More to come. 

He finished RB6 in PPR last year with 16 total touchdowns. Expect a slight drop-off, but a top-10 finish is still the expectation. 

Jacobs lacks the breakaway flash of his peers at the top of the RB heap, but he's a smart, physical, and versatile running back who has proven he can handle a strong volume of work. Green Bay has the line and surrounding skill talent to force defenses to play balanced or cheat toward the passing game. 

The only viable threat to Jacobs at this time is the potential for Green Bay to forcefeed MarShawn Lloyd into the lineup based on draft capital. Lloyd has big-play speed and promising receiving skills, but he must prove he can mature as a decision-maker and maintain ball security. 

Lloyd will likely take more from Emanuel Wilson and Christopher Brooks than he will from Jacobs. But if you're still concerned and want an RB, De'Von Achane and Jahmyr Gibbs are viable options. You are sacrificing volume, either way. 

Team adopted a more conservative usage pattern over second half, lowering his points. 

220-pound alpha in one of the best fantasy environments, paired with Matt LaFleur and a Packers offense that ranked fifth in Expected Points Added per Play (EPA/Play) and sixth in Rush EPA/Play last season. Jacobs ranked seventh in opportunities per game (21.1) and eighth in total yards per game (101.6).

Jacobs was on fire over the second half of last season, but his outlook with a healthy MarShawn Lloyd is a bit murkier.

He had the best scoring year of his career last season and even recorded his first receving touchdown. The move to Green Bay worked out well in Year 1. I am not sure he can handle another 337 touches, so he takes a bit of knock, but he is stll a solid fantasy RB.

300+ touches in 2024. The Packers leaned on him down the stretch, and he finished with 14 touchdowns. Some volume concerns after last year's usage. If he's on the field, he's an RB1.
