MarShawn Lloyd takes over as 'clear RB1' after Brooks injury; Cooper Achilles feared
Packers RB MarShawn Lloyd took over as the clear RB1 in Sunday's win over the Buccaneers after RB Chris Brooks, who got the start, was shut down in the first half with an ankle injury. Lloyd received 55 of the team's running back snaps in a three-man rotation that also included RB Kaleb Johnson. Head coach Matt LaFleur was not asked about Brooks' injury in his post-game press conference. Separately, the team is worried that Will linebacker Edgerrin Cooper tore his Achilles, which would be a season-ending injury, with Isaiah McDuffie next in line behind him.
Jordan Love says 'our run game's got to improve' after 17 rushing yards vs. Falcons
"Our run game's got to improve. When you have a solid pass game and run game balancing each other, that always helps," Love said, adding that it was harder to commit to the run once the Packers fell behind. RB Josh Jacobs remains on the commissioner's exempt list and is likely to be suspended without pay after pleading no contest to misdemeanor charges of battery and criminal damage to property.
MarShawn Lloyd held to 18 yards on six touches in Thursday blowout loss
Packers RB MarShawn Lloyd had just six touches for 18 yards in Green Bay's blowout loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday night in Week 3.
MarShawn Lloyd slips to RB3 in Week 3 snaps, trails Kaleb Johnson
