Andy Hicks
The Texans are investing strongly in their receiving corp. The question is can they support an alpha wide receiver like many project Nico Collins to be, or is the more likely case that he is the number one receiver, but others get a good share too. Christian Kirk comes in free agency. The 34th and 79th picks were spent on Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel. And the depth chart doesnt stop there. Collins is too risky at his current asking price.

Jason Wood

Jeff Haseley
If you want to make a splash pick at wide receiver in the second round of your draft, Collins is one to target. He is the clear top target for C.J. Stroud and has shown that he is capable of making consistent big plays week in and week out. He has the potential to finish as the #1 WR overall.

Phil Alexander
Led the NFL in receiving yards before a Week 5 hamstring injury sent him to IR. With Stefon Diggs gone and Tank Dell hurt, Collins is C.J. Stroud’s only returning wide receiver. He should pick up where he left off before getting hurt.

Matt Waldman
Collins is a proven primary option at the position. As long as he stays healthy, Collins should approach 1,200-1,300 yards and 8-10 scores -- even with a struggling offensive line.
Christian Kirk is a likely upgrade to Stefon Diggs and Jayden Higgins offers Tee Higgins/Drake London level promise, long-term. That's enough complementary weaponry for Collins to thrive.

Ben Cummins
They rarely make wide receivers like him. At 6'4.1" 215 pounds, Collins is a size mismatch while also being one of the best athletes at the position. He ranked second in yards per route run (3.10) in 2023 and third in the same metric (2.87) last season. His 88 receiving yards per game last season ranked fourth best.

Ryan Weisse
He has really come on since CJ Stroud became the QB in Houston. While Stroud has been up and down, he has been a target magnet. Expect no different in 2025.

Colton Dodgson
He posted some of the best metrics among receivers in 2024. The biggest threats to a massive target share are Christian Kirk and Jayden Higgins. It seems like he'll be relied on as the catalyst of Nick Caley's offense.

Touchdown for Nico Collins
Houston Texans WR Nico Collins caught two passes for 13 yards and one touchdown during the preseason game against the Carolina Panthers Saturday, Aug. 16. He was targeted three times during the game.
Christian Kirk drawing rave reviews
Houston Texans WR Christian Kirk 'has been everything we could ask for (so far this offseason),' according to head coach DeMeco Ryans. Teammate Nico Collins referred to Kirk as a 'slot magician.''You talk about a guy who is dedicated to getting better. He has honed in on his craft and he's leading our young guys. He's a hard worker, he shows up every day with the right attitude working hard and showing guys how it's done,' Ryans said.
