Wilson arrived in Pittsburgh without a refined release game at the line of scrimmage. He has the quickness and speed to win man-to-man routes, but he has lacked the knowledge of how to efficiently use his hands and feet.
Pittsburgh hopes Wilson can become a Randall Cobb-like option for Aaron Rodgers, but there's a lot Wilson must show as a route runner to become a match-up threat.
It's more plausible that Wilson becomes a contributor against zone coverage as a check-down option or fourth or fifth option who can get behind a defense on slow-developing plays.
