Sanders was merely adequate as a part-time starter for Cleveland, his Pro Bowl designation notwithstanding. One year into his pro career, and I still don't see an NFL starting QB here.

Shedeur Sanders hires an agent while stuck behind Deshaun Watson
Browns QB Shedeur Sanders has hired an agent, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported. Sanders is the backup behind starting QB Deshaun Watson. WR Marvin Harrison Jr. hired a pair of agents last month to seek and facilitate a trade and has since been dealt from the Cardinals to the Texans. Earlier this month, the Browns were reported to "welcome a deal at the right price" for Sanders or QB Dillon Gabriel.
Browns would 'welcome a deal at the right price' for Shedeur Sanders or Dillon Gabriel
The Browns "would probably welcome a deal at the right price" for QB Shedeur Sanders or QB Dillon Gabriel, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler said on Thursday, with QB Deshaun Watson leading Cleveland to a 3-1 start. Fowler said the team would like to keep rookie QB Taylen Green as a developmental player and added, "I am not saying they're definitely trading, I am saying they have the flexibility." Gabriel, on injured reserve with a back injury, is now eligible to return. Cleveland.com's Mary Kay Cabot reported last week that the Browns "plan to hang onto their young developmental quarterbacks" through the Nov. 10 trade deadline.
Shedeur Sanders enters game for Deshaun Watson against Panthers
Browns QB Shedeur Sanders entered Sunday's game against the Panthers in place of QB Deshaun Watson. Watson was injured in the fourth quarter.
Monken signals Watson remains starter
Despite reports on Sunday that Cleveland would evaluate the quarterback position after Week 2 with an eye toward starting Shedeur Sanders in Week 3, Browns HC Todd Monken indicated Watson will start Cleveland's home opener against Carolina on Sunday, saying, "I still see him as a very young player that is going to continue to grow."
