Tua Tagovailoa

He has two strikes against him - lack of rushing prowess and a history of concussion concerns. On any given Sunday, he could have a big week with a healthy Tyreek Hill on the field. 

You'd think the Dolphins have sunk to the bottom of the ocean. Perhaps last year is the precursor of an actual bottoming out, but I'm skeptical. 

I'm anticipating a rebound with Tagovailoa remains healthy, and I'm expecting it to happen. Look for Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine to combine for 2,800 yards and 17 touchdowns of passing offense. Jonnu Smith and Malik Washington should combine for another 750-800 and 5 scores. 

Add another 700 yards and 7 scores from the running backs, most of it from De'Von Achane, and you're looking at a low-end QB1 season for Tagovailoa. 

There is a plethora of quarterback options available this season, making it hard to lean into a player in Tua Tagovailoa with a concussion history. Is the added risk of Tagovailoa missing time with another head injury worth the risk? He hasn’t rushed for a touchdown in three seasons and has run for just 193 yards over his past 41 games. That’s 4.7 rushing yards per game over that span. Meanwhile, Tagovailoa ranked 44th out of 44 (In other words: Dead last) qualifying quarterbacks in Average Depth of Target (6.1) last season.
