Ty Simpson has many luxuries in his rookie season. He gets to sit behind Matthew Stafford and absorb Sean McVays system which would be difficult for an inexperienced quarterback. Many rookies would love his potential development curve. Patience will be required for dynasty managers who likely have to wait a year or two before he plays regularly.

Simpson becomes the heir apparent to the reigning MVP with a team in a Super Bowl window, the very definition of an ideal landing spot. His upside represents his potential to be a low-end QB1 in 2027 or 2028, running a high-powered McVay offense, but don't expect him to see the field much in 2026.

Dart (knee) questionable to return vs. Rams, Winston takes over
Giants QB Jaxson Dart sustained an apparent left knee injury on the final play of New York's opening drive against the Rams, according to Carter Bahns of CBS Sports. Dart was hit mid-throw by Rams defenders Josaiah Stewart and Byron Young, causing his knee to bend awkwardly, and he was evaluated in the sideline medical tent before walking to the locker room under his own power. Dart is questionable to return, and Jameis Winston entered the game in relief; rookie Ty Simpson is the emergency third quarterback. Dart had gone 3-for-5 for 20 yards on the drive before exiting, after opening the season with 230 passing yards and three touchdowns in a Week 1 win over the Cowboys.
Puka Nacua inactive vs. Giants; Whittington, Kinchens also out
Rams.com reports that Los Angeles WR Puka Nacua (hip) is inactive for Monday Night Football against the Giants at SoFi Stadium. Also inactive for the Rams are safety Kamren Kinchens (hamstring), who had already been ruled out, and wide receiver Jordan Whittington (quad), who had been listed as doubtful. Wide receiver CJ Daniels, offensive lineman Bill Murray and quarterback Ty Simpson (emergency third QB) round out Los Angeles' inactives.
Puka Nacua officially inactive for MNF vs. Giants with hip injury
Myles Simmons of Pro Football Talk reports that Rams WR Puka Nacua is officially inactive for Monday night's game against the Giants due to a hip injury. Nacua did not practice on Friday or Saturday, and caught five passes for 74 yards in the Rams' season-opening loss to the 49ers. Also inactive for Los Angeles are WR Jordan Whittington, S Kamren Kinchens, WR CJ Daniels, G Bill Murray, and QB Ty Simpson, who is the team's emergency third quarterback.
