If Simpson is a fast learner, then this offense will make him a star. But he needs to be good enough. With Stafford close to retirement, any issues and if Simpson is ready, look out. Chances are he will need a full year of preparation though

Don't expect Simpson to be ready until 2027 or 2028. He makes mistakes that many failed first-round picks make despite having similar big-play moments that get analysts and fans excited. The longer he gets to sit, the better his chanced to mature as a decision-maker.

McVay: Bennett, Simpson 2A and 2B behind Stafford
The Rams released a depth chart that shows Stetson Bennett as the team's second quarterback and first-round pick Ty Simpson as their third quarterback, but head coach Sean McVay said things are less clear-cut than that would make it appear. McVay said that he has not made a decision about who will be active for Thursday's game against the 49ers because he views the two quarterbacks on equal footing when it comes to the competition to be the next man up behind Matthew Stafford. "I look at it as the 2A, 2B," McVay said, "and we'll see how we approach the game."
