When Josh Allen threw for 37, 36 and 35 passing touchdowns in consecutive seasons from 2020 to 2022, his rushing touchdowns were 8, 6 and 7. Now that his rushing touchdowns have risen to 15, 12 and 14 in the last three years while his passing touchdowns dropped to 29, 28 and 25. Either way he ranked number one in four of these years and second once. All of this was under Sean McDermott. Although there is a sense of continuity under Joe Brady, Allen will be 30 and a fantasy numbers could drop below his expected draft price. Still, he is the safest elite option out there.

Allen remains the standard at quarterback due to his elite rushing touchdown floor in Joe Brady's offense, entirely justifying his position as your top overall signal-caller.

If you prefer Allen as your QB1, I have no definitive argument against Allen. Unlike Lamar Jackson, there are fewer questions about the offensive line and scheme contiunity. There's also a wider distribution and greater depth of skill talent for Allen on the Bills. 

At the same time, the supposed decline/thin margins with the Ravens' skill talent was little more than a symptom of poor guard play in 2025. This year, the Ravens may have one of the best guard tandems in the league. 

If you prefer a higher floor, Allen is your pick. If you prefer the highest ceiling, especially with the structure of a 1-QB format that gives you a strong shot at high-end starter depth, there's still a strong argument for taking Jackson.
