Shough 'loved' Weaver's 'poor man's Josh Allen' label after game-winning TD run

Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk reports that Saints QB Tyler Shough embraced being called a "poor man's Josh Allen" by Ravens defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver, a nickname Saints coaches used all week. Shough said, via Katherine Terrell of ESPN, "I loved it. I knew what [Weaver] meant by it, but yeah, obviously [Allen] is an elite player, but it fires me up." On Sunday, September 20, Shough ran for a touchdown and threw for a touchdown in a 24-17 win over the Ravens, capped by a game-winning quarterback sneak with 1:28 remaining. Terrell notes that since Week 10 of last season, Shough has 10 fourth-quarter passing and rushing touchdowns, compared to Allen's league-leading 11 in that span.

Sherman says Allen needed IV, was 'shivering in a hot tub' before TNF win

Myles Simmons of Pro Football Talk reports that Bills QB Josh Allen was feeling ill before Thursday night's 41-31 victory over the Lions. Prime Video analyst Richard Sherman said postgame that Allen needed an IV and was 'shivering in a hot tub' prior to kickoff, though Allen did not confirm or deny the claim. Bills head coach Joe Brady seemed to allude to the illness postgame, saying 'You watch how he plays, and it's like, how does everyone else not feel like they need to empty it out,' via Matt Parrino of nyup.com. Allen went on to finish 20-of-31 passing for 248 yards and three touchdowns, adding 69 rushing yards and two more scores.

Bills QB Josh Allen had a dominant performance against a tough Texans defense on Sunday. Allen had 334 yards passing with two touchdowns and ran for two more scores after losing his previous four games at Reliant Stadium. "It feels good to start the season off right," Allen said.
