Jonathon Brooks

The history of backs being successful after two injury prone seasons to start their career is limited. It would be great to see Brooks beat the odds, but not on my fantasy team. 

Now that he's fully cleared from his second ACL tear, Brooks has a direct path to stealing the lead job in Carolina over Chuba Hubbard if his college efficiency translates.

The talent and opportunity are enough to justify Brooks in Round 7, especially with Chuba Hubbard injured. Just don't chase him up the board in what will likely remain a timeshare in one of the league's lowest-scoring offenses.

Brooks two ACL tears has the community cautious about him. Medical experts will tell you that ACL tears are not a huge problem alone -- it's the prevalance of multiple ligamen tears when it happens. This was not the case for Brooks. 

Before getting hurt, Brooks had elite level contact balance, power, decision-making, and pass protection. He's a fast processor of information and he has enough speed to generate explosive plays of 10-20 yards when not flipping the field. 

Chuba Hubbard worked hard to become a starting-caliber RB after arriving to the NFL as an athletic project. Brooks entered the league a refined back coming off an injury that suffered a re-tear. 

Expect Brooks to earn no less than a 50/50 split with Hubbard before becoming the lead back by November. He may deliver close to 1,000 yards from scrimmage this year.
