MarShawn Lloyd

With Josh Jacobs sidelined for who knows how long, Lloyd is the leading candidate to start. With so little playing time in two years it's hard to have confidence he can sustain a workload. Buyer beware

With the uncertainty of Josh Jacobs' return from being on the commissioner's exempt list, Marshawn Lloyd becomes a player of interest, but we don't know how Green Bay will adjust its backfield touches. The thought process is that Lloyd would see the bulk of the team's carries, but that could be a fluid situation as the season progresses and others earn niche roles. 

Likely starter if Josh Jacobs isn't available. Jacobs was placed on the Commissioner Exempt List on 8/30.

Lloyd has excellent speed, but he's had difficulty holding onto the football and staying healthy. He didn't endear himself to the Packers' staff during his first two seasons. 

While analysts who value athletic ability more than positional skills will see Chris Brooks as a minor obstacle to overcome, Brooks is a legitimate three-down back with power, contact balance, and vision. He's also reliable as a receiver and with ball security. 

Lloyd must curb his tendencies to bounce plays outside that don't belong there. He must hold onto the ball. He must stay healthy. Those are three big issues. 

Lloyd has starter upside but it may still not be as easy for him as Josh Jacobs' exempt list placement makes it look.

Rave reviews of his camp and preseason, and now Jacobs' suspension seems inevitable. He's barely a sleeper because everyone knows what's going on. If you want him, plan 2-3 rounds ahead of ADP.
