Davis Mills ineffective in relief of Stroud
Houston Texans QB Davis Mills completed 17-of-30 for 137 yards without a touchdown or interception in Week 9 against the Denver Broncos.
C.J. Stroud will not return
Houston Texans QB C.J. Stroud (concussion) has been ruled out for the rest of the Week 9 game against the Denver Broncos due to a concussion. He was knocked out in the first half, replaced by QB Davis Mills. Stroud finished 6-of-10 for 79 yards with 12 rushing yards. He was also sacked twice.
CIN checked in on multiple QBs before Joe Flacco trade
The Cincinnati Bengals conducted an extensive search for quarterback help before ultimately trading with the Cleveland Browns for QB Joe Flacco earlier this week, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Cincinnati reportedly expressed interest in Houston Texans QB Davis Mills, Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Howell and retired QB Derek Carr (Saints) before making a deal for Flacco. The Bengals did not check in on free-agent QB Ryan Tannehill because he has not played since the 2023 season.
