Matt Waldman
Waddle is an excellent acquisition for the Broncos because he's a complete receiver with 1,000-yard value who can play multiple roles with game-changing speed. Courtland Sutton is a complete outside receiver but lacks breakaway speed. Troy Franklin has game-changing speed, but lacks a complete game.
Pat Bryant works over the middle but lacks speed. Marvin Mims is a return specialist schemed to run selected routes that don't tax him technically and conceptually.
Evan Engram? Fast for a tight end.
Adding Waddle to the corps allows Denver to move a top player around the formation and dictated matchups with greater success. Even if they don't do this, Waddle's skill and athletic ability generates more spacing advantages for the offense and will create more clear-cut decisions for Bo Nix.
Stretching the field with Waddle can also open the underneath zones for the rest of the corps -- especially in the red zone. Waddle also creates his own mismatches everywhere.

Waddle finished last season as the fantasy WR23 in PPR formats, a significant rebound from his WR49 finish the year before, both in a broken Miami offense. He signed with Denver, the league's pass-happiest offense last season. Volume should be there for Waddle, but he's now three years removed from those elite first two seasons and will turn 28 this year. Ceiling is likely a mid- to low-WR2 for the next couple of seasons; floor is a high-end WR4.

Denver Broncos WR Jaylen Waddle has been involved in the passing game at all levels of the field during minicamp, according to Jeff Legwold of ESPN.com.
Jaylen Waddle disguises routes well
Denver Broncos WR Jaylen Waddle is fitting in with his new team, and drawing praise from the coaching staff and teammates for his quick starting and stopping, and for his route running. 'I think his ability to make every route look the same is pretty important,' S Talanoa Hufanga said. 'As a defender, when you can make a 10-yard stop look like a go, a 10-yard dig (route) look like a go, a 10-yard out-route -- it's just, everything looks the same. And it puts pressure on your backpedal, as a DB.'
