As we race toward August, Footballguys.com will examine one team per weekday with our quick-hitting Team Sleepers feature. These players might not be complete busts, but we will be highlighting players our staff thinks will disappoint this year and underperform their average draft position (ADP).

Busts on the Washington Commanders

Reasons WR Terry McLaurin Could Be a Bust

  • Maurile Tremblay: Third-round price bakes in last year's 13-TD spike, but Samuel's arrival and TD regression could sink him below value.
  • Hutchinson Brown: I am thrilled that he finally has a great quarterback, but 82 receptions, 1,096 yards, and 13 touchdowns will be a challenging touchdown rate to repeat. If you have to pay a top-15 wide receiver price for him, which I often see, I am likely to be out.
  • Jeff Haseley: I am less interested in McLaurin this year with the addition of Deebo Samuel Sr. It will be tough to meet or exceed his production from last season.
  • Andy Hicks: Bust is a hard term, but 13 touchdown seasons are rare. Especially when a player of the calibre of Deebo Samuel Sr. gets added to the offense.
  • Craig Lakins: Currently being picked in the middle of the second round, McLaurin might be the player most impacted by the Commanders' acquisition of Deebo Samuel Sr. Couple that with a mini-camp holdout, and it's hard to see that ADP paying off.
