Office Pools are a fun way for even casual NFL fans to enjoy a little bit of sports gambling. It is an excellent opportunity to bond with your colleagues, enjoy a little friendly competition, and, most importantly, win a little money.
The staff at Footballguys.com also enjoys these contests, and each week we will publish our picks to give our subscribers some ideas on what teams to pick in your office pools or at your local sportsbook.
Each week, we will post our office pool picks with three different themes:
Office Pool – NFL Game Picks
Our staff will pick the winner of every NFL contest every week. They will also rank their confidence level in their selection, ranging from 1 (least confident) to 16 (most confident). We'll also combine everyone's confidence points, giving you a Wisdom of the Staff confidence level as well.
Office Pool – Against the Spread Picks
Each week, the staffers will select their eight favorite NFL games and pick the winner, based on the early Las Vegas odds for each.
Office Pool – Eliminator/Survivor Picks
Sounds simple, right? Just pick one team to win this week. The only catch is that you can only use a team once the entire season.
Week 6 NFL Game Picks Results
Below are the picks and results from week 5. Each staffer is awarded the confidence points they selected for each correct pick. Incorrect picks are in Red.

The Philadelphia loss on Thursday night took everyone in the pool down last week. Monday night losses by Detroit and Washington also hurt. But Cummins posted one of the best performances of the year with only two misses, and he was the only player to finish with over 100 confidence points for the week. In contrast to the week 5 results, the top score from week 5 (McCarty - 51) was 17 points below the lowest score of week 6 (Carey - 68).
Standings
This is where everyone sits after four weeks of games. Remember, in this format, Confidence Points are how everyone is ranked. Wins are nice, but the allocation of points is the point of this contest.

This Week's Picks
The Table below shows the team that each staffer picked to win the game and how confident they are with that pick, ranging from 16 (a virtual lock) to 1 (basically, flipping a coin). In case of a tie, the Monday Night Football (MNF) Total points scored will be the tiebreaker (closest to the total wins).

The bottom of the table reflects the wisdom of the staff for each game. Higher total points indicate that the staff strongly believes the team will win. A score of zero means none of the staff expect that team to win.
High Confidence Picks for Week 7
This week's totals reflect the upsets that have been happening in the NFL over the last few weeks. Only Kansas City and New England were unanimous selections this week. Thursday Night hasn't been kind to the favorite this season, but the Steelers still received 131 confidence points. The Bears, Broncos, and Packers also received over 100 confidence points this week.
Low Confidence Picks for Week 7
The Falcons' surprise win over Buffalo on Monday night has the staff reconsidering their match this week against the injury-riddled 49ers. San Francisco has a slight edge in confidence points, but the 53 total points on the game make it the lowest contest for the week. Detroit has a decent amount of points compared to Tampa Bay, but 66 total points is the second-lowest score of the week. Washington always plays Dallas tough, and the Cowboys can't stop anyone on defense. But the last-second loss to Chicago has the staff reluctant to put many points on either of the NFC East teams.
Final Thoughts
Just two NFL teams are on a bye again this week, so the maximum total is at 120 for a perfect score.
Reminder: The picks for these games lock on Wednesday night. If there are late injury updates or changing weather conditions, please adjust your picks accordingly.
