Fantasy Football Impact for Dallas Goedert with the Philadelphia Eagles
Goedert, 31, was the subject of trade speculation last offseason as he entered the final year of a contract with the Eagles that was slated to pay him north of $14 million in 2025. According to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, Goedert had offers elsewhere, but he was willing to work with the team to run it back another year, allowing the Eagles to avoid a $20 million dead money hit against their cap.
In his eight seasons, all with the Eagles, Goedert has 409 receptions for 4,676 yards and 35 touchdowns.
He was a key part of the passing attack last season.
Goedert's 60 catches and 11 touchdowns were career highs. He finished with 591 yards in 15 games and appeared to be the player who benefited most from Kevin Patullo in his lone season as offensive coordinator. Patullo seemingly got Goedert wide open on a vertical route up the seam for a big gain each week.
Philadelphia, though, did not get consistent high-level blocking from its tight end group, including Goedert, who has generally been strong in that area over his career.
There will be changes with a new coordinator, Sean Mannion, installing a new scheme. Mannion is expected to use a variation of Sean McVay's and Kyle Shanahan's schemes in Philadelphia this season.
That system has always made the tight end an active part of the offense.
But Goedert hasn't topped 600 receiving yards in a campaign since 2022, and fantasy investors shouldn't bank on a repeat of last year's red-zone performance.
Goedert's TE13 Average Draft Position (ADP) could rise slightly, but wise managers won't chase it into TE1 territory.
