Kenyon Sadiq, New York Jets, Round 1, Pick 16

The New York Jets selected tight end Kenyon Sadiq with the No. 16 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Sadiq, an Oregon product, now joins a Jets offense that is looking for pass-catchers.

Projected Role in the Jets Offense

  • Top receiving tight end
  • Expected snap share: 75%
  • Timeline to start: Week 1
  • Primary Competition: Mason Taylor

Key Takeaways

  • Kenyon Sadiq projects as the pseudo-wide receiver two for the offense moving forward.
  • Expected fantasy value: low-end TE1 in 2026, with difference-making potential if the Jets ever have quality QB play.
  • Biggest winner: Geno Smith
  • Biggest loser: Mason Taylor

Fantasy Football Impact of Kenyon Sadiq on the New York Jets

The 2026 New York Jets got a facelift. Geno Smith should elevate the offense to almost competent. The offensive line is good, not great. Now, Sadiq adds a level of explosiveness and tackle-breaking that most of the current receivers don't possess. It's hard to project any level of security in any Jets player in the 21st century, but Sadiq has all of the athleticism to stick around the league for years to come.

While Mason Taylor will take a back seat, this move also indicates that Sadiq should operate as the team's second pass catcher, next to Garrett Wilson, with Adonai Mitchell also taking a slight hit. Sadiq's 2026 and early career could be frustrating, but we've seen athletic freaks at tight end take some time to develop. Worst-case scenario, he'll be electric on his next team in 2030.
