I expanded the board to 51 players last week, and it still feels like there are names not included that deserve recognition. With the season about halfway over, it's time to start doing deep dives. So this series will have deep dives on positions leading up to odd weeks (like this one), then ranking updates with the biggest movers highlighted in even weeks (like the next one).
There have been three iterations of the big board already, and sometimes it's nice to go back and check the work. For anyone curious, here are the preseason rankings and version 2.0. Before we know who declares, the wide receivers in this class are absurd. K.J. Duff is a 6'6" monster terrorizing college defenses, and he might be wide receiver five or six in this class. Cayden Lee is leading the SEC in receiving yards, and he might be a late-day two pick (he's going way up in the next rankings update; I'm late to the party on Lee). With the proliferation of seven-on-seven and receiver coaches being better than ever, we may never have another bad wide receiver class. Even among the talent we've had declare lately, this class has impressive depth.
