Scouting Report
CJ Williams hit USC as a local high school star and a Top-10 receiver recruit nationally. After one season, he hit the portal, surprising many and landing in Wisconsin, in his words, looking for an opportunity to be the top receiver. He ended up finding a team loaded with receivers, including the Titans' Chimere Dike and 2025 Biletnikoff finalist Skyler Bell. But the offense lacked a clear plan for utilizing its receiver depth. Despite the talent, Wisconsin ranked 71st in passing. After two seasons, he moved again, landing at Stanford, where he led the team in receiving. Williams earned a late opportunity to fill in at the Shrine Bowl, where he gained recognition for quickly adapting.
Williams offers solid play strength and the ability to play inside or out. He lacks the top-end speed to win vertically consistently and primarily operates in the intermediate area, frequently running curl and in-breaking routes. He is a tough receiver in the middle and shows strong awareness on the sidelines. NFL teams like to take chances on former blue-chip recruits, but Williams' production and athletic profiles make it unlikely he will be drafted.
Rundown
Williams was a top-10 receiving recruit who started his career on a loaded USC offense. His best traits are strength and fearlessness in the middle of the field, though he struggled to live up to his recruiting status.
