Scouting Report
Dallen Bentley left Taylorsville High School in Utah with almost no recruiting buzz and spent his first year in college playing at Snow College, a local community college. He earned NJCAA All-America second-team and All-Academic honors as a freshman. After just one season, he hit the transfer portal as a four-star prospect. He went to Utah and had minimal production over the next two seasons. In 2025, during his senior season, Bentley exploded. His 620 receiving yards were second on the team, and his six receiving touchdowns led the Utes. Bentley's career is a testament to his intelligence and hard work.
Bentley plays a traditional tight end role, not afraid to block in the run game and maul defenders. He can hold a block and seal the edge against defensive ends and linebackers. However, he has the skill set to break off the line and run routes. He's excellent at contested catches, using his thick arms to overpower coverage defenders. Bentley doesn't possess the fluid athleticism that many modern move tight ends have, but his strength, blocking fundamentals, and receiving usage should help him find a role in the pros.
Rundown
Bentley was a late bloomer after starting his college career in JUCO, but his senior season inspires hope that he can be an old-school in-line tight end with red-zone utility as a receiver.
