Scouting Report
Haynes King is an experienced quarterback who maximized his college career. Originally a four-star recruit, King committed to Texas A&M after high school. His background -- in track and field and in basketball -- is evident in his play style, but he had to wait until college to show it off. He redshirted as a freshman, then broke his leg early in 2021 as the starter. In 2022, he dealt with injuries, and the team rotated starting quarterbacks, so King entered the transfer portal and committed to Georgia Tech. He was named to the All-ACC first team in 2025 and won the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award.
King can scoot, that's for sure. His legs helped elevate Georgia Tech's offense, and there was no noticeable difference in rushing ability despite his numerous injuries. He has the arm strength to let it fly, but isn't one to layer throws or put touch on a shallow crosser. 2025 featured some of his best tape, keeping the ball out of harm's way, but the deep shots and reasonable risks also dropped as a result.
Rundown
King has shown improvement year over year at quarterback and has plenty of college playing experience. With NFL-level tools, King profiles as an average backup at worst.
