Scouting Report
Taylen Green is a rare physical talent. He was initially a three-star recruit who also holds his school's record in the long jump. He committed to Boise State in 2021. Green redshirted for a season, then was pressed into action when the starter was hurt in 2022. Green held the starting job for two seasons and was the MWC Championship MVP in 2023 before transferring to Arkansas. Arkansas rotated captains by week, and Green was a frequent captain across both seasons there. He was a Senior Bowl participant and the most physically gifted among the group.
Green's play is highly volatile with flashes of brilliance offset by bouts of inaccuracy. One play, he'll hit a deep shot in stride; the next, he'll overthrow a short out route by several yards. The tools are there, he said he can throw the ball 75 yards, and that doesn't seem like hyperbole. He's a long-striding runner who covers ground quickly when given space. The inconsistencies stem from his release point; he often fails to get over the ball to drive into it, and as a result, he struggles with layering throws.
Rundown
In a class with a lot of quarterbacks without NFL-level tools, Green is the perfect project for a team that wants to take a homerun swing.
