Brashard Smith

If he takes on the Jerick McKinnon role on the Chiefs' offense, he could see more touches than anticipated this season. 

Smith is an RSP Favorite as a dynasty option with big-play value this year. A former receiver at Miami, Smith transferred to SMU and delivered compelling play on film as a first-year starter at running back in 2024. 

Smith has good contact balance for his size, breakaway speed, and receiving skills that fellow convert Tyrone Tracy didn't show in college. 

Smith has a starter ceiling that has its best chance for the Chiefs to realize in 1-2 seasons. That said, injuries and opportunity could give Smith the chance to play and level up faster than this timeline. Monitor. 

He's an exciting late-round target in best ball, especially on DraftKings, where it's Full PPR scoring. Smith is a former wide receiver at Miami who caught 108 passes for 1,097 yards and 8 touchdowns in his four-year collegiate career. But he wasn't just a scat back. He handled 274 touches last season at SMU and turned them into 1,659 total yards and 18 touchdowns. He ran a 4.39 40-yard dash and projects to slot right into the third-down role in Kansas City's offense, formerly occupied by Jerick McKinnon and Samaje Perine.

He's a converted receiver who developed into an effective back at SMU in 2024. That versatility should serve him well in KC if he makes the roster, especially with receiving specialist Semaje Perine now in Cincinnati.
