The 2025 campaign is now in full swing. We will focus on waivers and trades until later in the season, when we will transition to players to stash, buy, and sell for the offseason. In today's "Dynasty News," we will examine some of the week's larger happenings from a dynasty perspective.
Dynasty News: QB J.J. McCarthy, Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings offense desperately misses J.J. McCarthy at the helm. Thursday night's game against the Chargers solidified the point.
Here's the key part of what he said: "If J.J. is healthy, J.J. will play. That's been the case since the injury. That's always been kind of my mindset, and I believe we're right hopefully around the corner from seeing him be healthy, have a week of preparation and go compete." https://t.co/rlFiWhZOXN

After the loss last Thursday, McCarthy will be "healthy" regardless of whether he is fully healthy or not. Minnesota is 3-4 and will need to string wins together. The Vikings have Detroit, Baltimore, Chicago, and Green Bay up next in a key stretch of the schedule. All eyes will be on McCarthy as the Minnesota offense needs a boost.
Late Monday afternoon, news dropped of Wentz requiring surgery; he will now miss the remainder of the season:
#Vikings QB Carson Wentz will undergo season-ending surgery on his left shoulder, sources tell The Insiders. Wentz battled through the injury in last week's game against the #Chargers but after further evaluation, a procedure was deemed necessary. pic.twitter.com/kV5IBllrPn

Dynasty News: Anthony Richardson Sr., Indianapolis Colts
Anthony Richardson Sr. broke his orbital bone roughly two weeks ago and just had surgery to repair it. He is unlikely to make a return during this fantasy season. Riley Leonard will continue to back up Daniel Jones.
One note: #Colts QB Anthony Richardson Sr. had surgery to repair his orbital fracture on Monday and there is a chance he returns this season, sources say. https://t.co/fiZDypPlac

Richardson is under contract through 2026, plus the possibility of a fifth-year option, so there is a chance he could be traded this coming offseason.
Dynasty News: QB Tyler Huntley, Baltimore Ravens
While Cooper Rush started in place of the injured Lamar Jackson for three games, he was replaced by veteran Tyler Huntley against the Bears on Sunday. Baltimore only scored 33 points in Rush's three starts. He played well enough to lead the Ravens to the much-needed victory over Chicago.
#Ravens HC John Harbaugh said QB Tyler "Snoop" Huntley is now the backup QB, meaning Cooper Rush is the QB3.

Lamar Jackson was a full participant in practice today and is on track to return — with Snoop now the next man up. pic.twitter.com/PO6posWjiY
Before Sunday's game against Chicago, Dwain McFarland posted Huntley's stats since 2021:
Tyler Huntley in 10 games with the Ravens with 85%+ or snaps since 2021:
— Dwain McFarland (@dwainmcfarland) October 25, 2025
176 passing yards per game
0.6 passing touchdowns
43 rushing yards
0.3 rushing touchdowns
13.7 fantasy points
Huntley was with the Browns in August but signed to the Ravens' practice squad soon after being released by Cleveland. Rush is a poor stylistic match for the Baltimore offense, and Huntley's style is much more similar to Jackson's. Those in deep SuperFlex leagues should consider holding Huntley the remainder of the season, as a Jackson injury could make Huntley a playoff hero. After Sunday's win, coach Harbaugh told reporters that Jackson will start Thursday's game at Miami, a soft defense to help the talented quarterback reacclimate after injury.
Dynasty News: RB Omarion Hampton, Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers' offense has lost its top two running backs to injury, first Najee Harris and then Omarion Hampton. With the difficult division schedule on the horizon, Los Angeles is anxious to get Hampton back. After the Thursday night win, beat reporter Daniel Popper tweeted:
#Chargers RB Omarion Hampton (ankle) was still in a walking boot leaving the locker room tonight. Hampton has been on IR since Week 5.
— Daniel Popper (@danielrpopper) October 24, 2025
Hampton is likely a few weeks away from being back on the field. Dr. Jeff Mueller offered this:
Omarion Hampton thoughts if anyone is interested.
— Jeff Mueller, PT, DPT (@jmthrivept) October 24, 2025
Being in a walking boot 3 weeks post injury makes me near 99% sure there's a fracture involved. Could be surgical or non-surgical.
Either way, if this is accurate, I think we won't see him again until Wk13 or later. https://t.co/AAO4hdCWPS
If Dr. Mueller is correct, it will be Vidal and Haskins for the near future. Expect quarterback Justin Herbert to continue to lead his team in rushing until Hampton returns.
Dynasty News: RB Bucky Irving, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
