Pierce is a curious player. He lacks great speed, but he has the footwork, contact balance, and receiving skills to develop into a regular contributor.
Houston has never leveraged Pierce's receiving skills, and it's easy to wonder if Pierce did something to turn off the coaching staff early in his career. He can deliver fantasy value, but the Texans will try to bury him behind Joe Mixon, Nick Chubb, and Woody Marks.

If Mixon were to miss time, and Chubb isn't the answer, then Pierce, a former overall RB15, could be a great value as a cheap waiver-wire pickup.

I was already a touch higher on Pierce as a dynasty asset than some of my peers. I give him a bump because we've seen him produce, he's still only 25, and he seemed like a guy destined to be cut and get a chance on a team that better fits his skill set. The Texans signing of Chubb, on the heels of their drafting of Marks, means Pierce could be that much closer to finding a more consistent role elsewhere. Hold.
