With six weeks to go in many dynasty fantasy football league regular seasons, plenty of team directions are already declared - in the playoffs and fighting for positioning, or out of the playoffs and shifting sights to 2027. This week will focus on the running back position and how different players fit different team directions:

Stack Running Backs

The term stack is used to bolster contending team rosters. These backs can be underrated within their starting role, or (mainly) benefit from an injury in front of them and become a fantasy starter in a given week down the stretch. As trading is largely still open, these are perfect add-ons to bigger trades.

All of these options fall in the Round 3 or cheaper rookie-pick price range. Perine, Davis, and Vaki are more obvious prime options considering the level of offense and the projected market share of the backfield if the starter is out. Brian Robinson Jr. and Dameon Pierce are both injured coming out of Week 8, but the upside of them getting healthy and being the primary backup to benefit from an injury in the closing weeks is significant. Tyler Goodson is an underappreciated name this season, as Goodson has had the Dallas RB2 role locked down for weeks now, yet is still available in dynasty leagues. Devin Singletary has a Giants depth chart that is more cleared out, with Tyrone Tracy Jr. on IR and Najee Harris released in recent weeks. Only a Cam Skattebo injury is in Singletary's way from fantasy prowess in the most important weeks. The dark horse here is Justice Hill. The Ravens are falling from grace quickly with their devolving quarterback situation, but Hill actually thrives in negative game-script situations compared to a limited Derrick Henry. Hill is also the primary backup if Henry misses time to be a high-level PPR option.
