Dobbins entered the NFL as a Ray Rice do-it-all dynamo with breakaway speed. Then, the catastrophic injuries hit in succession.
It's amazing Dobbins could change his game to match his existing post-operative athletic ability. This is the hidden part of rehab that happens to a lot of players and many can't do it.
Dobbins is conceptually one of the better RBs in the game, but he hasn't been able to finish a season. Sean Payton seems content with getting what he can from Dobbins as the leader of a three-headed backfield.
Jonah Coleman will earn a lot of buzz, but he's not even as explosive as post-operative Dobbins and not the tackle-breaker he's reputed to be. Expect Dobbins to lead this backfield and deliver strong fantasy RB2 value until his health falters.

He was the RB18 through Week 10 before a foot injury forced him to miss the remainder of last season. He may be fully healthy, but he's returning to a full-fledged committee. It's hard to trust any of these Denver backs for fantasy purposes. Dobbins, who turns 28 late this year, is signed through 2027, but the Broncos could part ways with him after this season for a minimal dead cap hit. He's the kind of aging back that makes a solid flex play for a contending team. Otherwise, risk outweighs reward.
