Much of fantasy football's in-season team strategy centers around which players to pick up from the waiver wire or to target in the trade market. However, roster spots are a premium (and finite) resource. Cutting a player - or adding them to a trade - opens a roster spot for a key waiver wire addition or the flexibility to keep a currently injured player through a missed game or two. Here are the key players to cut or trade after Week 7:

Roster Rate references data collected from myfantasyleague.com leagues.

Shallow Formats

15-18 roster spots

RB Tyler Allgeier, Falcons

Why: Bam Knight seizing the 1A role from Allgeier in recent weeks is only part of the concern for Allgeier. James Conner and Jeremiyah Love are both projected to return soon to the Arizona depth chart. Allgeier is already behind Knight in appeal and projects to fall further for fantasy consideration. Allgeier might be a cut candidate in deeper leagues as soon as a week or two from now, but is already a shallow cut player after Week 7.

RB J.K. Dobbins, Broncos

Why: Dobbins converted a goal-line carry for a touchdown this week, but he is on borrowed time as a fantasy consideration. RJ Harvey is still the primary receiving option, and Jonah Coleman, in his first game back from an IR stint, had the most snaps and most carries for the backfield. Coleman has more balance to his usage than Dobbins, and Dobbins was fortunate to salvage any fantasy production with his touchdown. Dobbins at RB25 in Roster Rate needs to plummet this week, and swapping him for anything helpful at other positions is a mandate.

TE Juwan Johnson, Saints

Why: Johnson was the clear starter in the early weeks of the season for the Saints, but the past two weeks specifically have cracked the foundation of his market share. Johnson ran barely half of the Saints' routes this week, with Oscar Delp and Noah Fant having as many targets as Johnson, who is one of the ice-cold fantasy tight ends in recent weeks with 7.3 PPR points over the past three games combined. After another dud game and heading into a Week 8 bye, Johnson is the perfect cut player this week.
