One thing Daniels will need to get back to his rookie season form is confidence. Both in his body and in his form. We won’t know that until a few weeks into the season. I wouldn’t like to gamble on him as my fantasy starter that’s for sure. One-season wonders, even if he only has two so far, are common. I might sit this one out and be very conservative in projections.

Adjusting to new offense, but could be helped by possible run game improvement
A myriad of injuries last year, may have to change playing style if he gets hurt early this season
First time OC/Playcaller David Blough, was only assistant QB coach for two years after unremarkable career as a backup QB
Jeff Haseley
After injuries derailed his sophomore season, Daniels enters his third year fully healthy and playing under new offensive coordinator David Blough. If he can avoid the trainer's room and run with the same confidence we saw during his rookie year, his elite rushing floor gives him a realistic shot to finish in the top 4.
Phil Alexander
Missing 10 games last season reinforced the durability concerns that followed him into the league. His QB5 finish as a rookie proves he has profit potential at his current ADP, but drafting him makes getting a quality backup a priority.
Matt Waldman
Daniels' production took a step back last year. It's entirely plausible to pin that on Kliff Kingsbury's predictable scheme.
It's also plausible to pin it on Kingsbury's scheme not maximizing one of Daniels' best talents as a thrower -- the vertical game.
It's additional plausible that the players Kingsbury wanted weren't versatile enough as route runners and limited Daniels' further.
A simpler factor we must also include is that teams caught up to Daniels in this system and made life more difficult.
This year, David Blough will be placing Daniels under center, using a power running game behind a strong Commanders line, and hoping to devleop a vertical play-action game that suits Daniels' talents. This means less running for Daniels.
It may be a step back this year before they get the personnel to move forward. As long as Stefon Diggs and Terry McLaurin stay healthy, Daniels will have low-end QB1 value.
Ryan Weisse
Daniels slight frame makes last year's rash of injuries more concerning than most. When he plays, he's great, but he missed more than half the season last year, and the injury was terribly managed by the Commanders organization.

Jayden Daniels working out with teammates
Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels has recently been working out with some of his pass catchers leading up to training camp.
Jayden Daniels sours on Brandon Aiyuk
Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels, and embattled San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk, apparently have had a beef on social media. Aiyuk wanted to play with his former Arizona State teammate, as he has had a very public contract dispute with his current team. It was thought he would eventually land in Washington, the only team to show any remote interest in him, but after Aiyuk insulted Daniels' mother, who is also his agent, that landing spot might no longer be in the cards. 'Enjoy retirement, pal,' Daniels posted on social media, tagging Aiyuk, before pulling it down later.
Jayden Daniels still learning offense
Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels said he still has a 'long way to go' to learn offensive coordinator David Blough's system.
Jayden Daniels to work in new scheme
Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels will work in a heavy play-action system under new offensive coordinator David Blough, which will, at times, feature bootlegs. The bootlegs will enable Daniels to get more in the open field. 'He's one of the smartest players I've ever coached,' QBs coach D.J. Williams said Saturday, June 13. 'It's his football knowledge, just his natural instincts, but also how quick he can process. Obviously from the outside looking in, you see the speed, you see the arm, you see the playmaking ability, but ... from the neck up, man, that's like he is second to none.'
