Skyy Moore 'most seamless plug-and-play option' to fill Jayden Reed's role
Packers WR Skyy Moore is seen as the most seamless plug-and-play option to replace WR Jayden Reed, whose Week 2 neck injury will require season-ending surgery. Green Bay lined Moore up in the backfield in the Week 3 loss to the Falcons, and he picked up 12 yards on a screen. "You can line me up wherever - punts, kick returns, backfield, X. I just like to help my team," said Moore, who has 396 all-purpose yards in three games. WR Savion Williams (ankle) is eligible to practice next week after opening the season on injured reserve with a designation to return.
Jayden Reed to IR, neck surgery expected to end his season
The Packers placed WR Jayden Reed on injured reserve on Wednesday to make room for G Kevin Zeitler. Head coach Matt LaFleur said Reed told him on Tuesday that he will have neck surgery, which is expected to end his 2026 season but is not considered career-ending. LB Edgerrin Cooper (shoulder/concussion) was limited in Wednesday's practice after leaving the Week 3 loss to the Falcons, and LB Isaiah McDuffie would start in his place if Cooper can't play Sunday against the Buccaneers.
Jayden Reed to undergo season-ending neck surgery, placed on IR
Packers WR Jayden Reed will undergo season-ending neck surgery, head coach Matt LaFleur told reporters on Wednesday. Reed was placed on injured reserve Wednesday. Green Bay went through a lengthy process with many evaluations and opinions and took a patient approach before deciding surgery was the best course of action for Reed.
Matt LaFleur says Jayden Reed's neck injury will end his season, not career-ending
Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said on Wednesday that WR Jayden Reed's neck injury will end his season. LaFleur added that the injury is not considered career-ending: "From my understanding, no. But he will be out a significant amount of time." Reed was placed on injured reserve with the neck injury earlier on Wednesday.
