Konata Mumpfield, Emmanuel Forbes suffer contusions, McVay not concerned
Rams WR Konata Mumpfield suffered a rotator cuff contusion and CB Emmanuel Forbes Jr. sustained a knee contusion in Sunday's 24-20 win over the Eagles. Head coach Sean McVay indicated on Monday that he was not particularly concerned about either injury, suggesting both players have a chance to avoid a significant absence. Mumpfield played 23 offensive snaps and caught one of three targets for seven yards, while Forbes played 21 snaps and recorded one tackle with CB Jaylen Watson out.
Jaylen Watson, Aaron Donald trending toward Week 5; Terrance Ferguson to return this season
Rams head coach Sean McVay said on Monday the team will try to harness CB Jaylen Watson's dislocated shoulder this week, and "if he feels good throughout the week in practice, the expectation is he'll be ready to roll against the Bills" in Week 5 on Monday Night Football. If Watson cannot go, CB Josh Wallace would likely start in his place for a second straight game. McVay said the "hope" is DT Aaron Donald (back) also returns against the Bills: "I don't want to pigeonhole, but yeah, that's the direction that it looks like it's trending in." McVay said TE Terrance Ferguson was placed on injured reserve on Friday because of "just the severity of" his medial ankle sprain, and he expects Ferguson to return before the end of the season, while he indicated he was not concerned about WR Konata Mumpfield (rotator cuff contusion) or CB Emmanuel Forbes Jr. (knee contusion).
Konata Mumpfield played through shoulder issue
WR Konata Mumpfield went down hard while attempting to make a diving catch in the second quarter of Sunday's win over the Eagles, landing on his left arm. He was shaken up on the play and examined by trainers on the sidelines. Mumpfield was taken to the locker room for further evaluation.
