Rice's off-field issues cloud his long-term outlook with the Chiefs but he's on track to lead Kansas City in receiving once again. Rice's wheelhouse as a receiver is yards after the catch and Kansas City has made him an extension of the running game.
Barring a complication with the rehab of his knee injury, another off-field issue, or a likely four-game suspension this year, we'll see WR1 value on at least a points-per-game level.
Rice averaged 18.5 points per game during his 8-game stint on the field -- fifth-best among receivers last year. If you take this rate of play and extrapolate it to 13 games, Rice still would have been a fantasy WR1 last year -- WR9 between Chris Olave and Davante Adams.

The very definition of high-risk, high-reward. Rice is elite when he's on the field. His off-field activities could take him off the field at any moment, for any length of time. His latest legal trouble demonstrates a continued lack of judgment and may delay his recovery from a knee injury. A suspension is also a possibility, whetherfrom this incident or one yet to occur. Buyer beware.

Rashee Rice could face four-game suspension
Updating previous reports, Kansas City Chiefs WR Rashee Rice could face a suspension of up to four games for violating the personal conduct policy. The policy has a provision that applies to violations of the law regarding 'substances of abuse,' which includes marijuana. It allows the commissioner to suspend the player for up to four games.
Rashee Rice had clean-up knee surgery
Updating a previous report, one week before being ordered to serve 30 days in jail for violating his probation, Kansas City Chiefs WR Rashee Rice underwent a clean-up surgery on his right knee to remove loose debris that was causing inflammation. The surgery is expected to sideline him two months, according to a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter on Tuesday, May 19. It was reported earlier that day that Rice violated his parole by testing positive for marijuana and will serve 30 days in jail and miss the team's OTAs and mandatory mini-camp.
