Kenneth Walker has had diminishing returns in each of his three years. Zach Charbonnet has gotten better each year. Walker is however seen as the clearcut starter. In the last year of his rookie contract, Walker has it all to prove and struggling to get to his expected performance level. His last 100-yard game was the opening game of the 2024 season. He had one touchdown in his last six games and averaged 3.2 yards a carry in that time. Walker may enter this season fit and in prime position to be what is expected, but one touch of adversity and Charbonnet is on hand to take advantage. He outplayed Walker in all facets last year. Rushing, touchdowns, receiving etc. There is no doubt Charbonnet will get enough work to justify his draft slot, even if Walker is back to his best. What makes Charbonnet incredible value is that he is likely to see more work than Walker’s best-case scenario. If there are any issues with Walker this year Charbonnet could be a league winner.

A case can be made he's a better running back than his teammate, Ken Walker, but do the coaches agree?

A committee approach is likely in Seattle, but if injuries continue to be a problem for Ken Walker, expect Charbonnet's value to increase dramatically.

Klint Kubiak likes to run the ball, especially off-tackle and in two TE sets. Zach Charbonnet has some Arian Foster-like style to his game, but Ken Walker is one of the best perimeter runners I have scouted in the past 10 years. He's a creative player with a lot of patience at the edge of the box.

Kubiak wanted to ride Walker heavily while knowing he has two proven workhorses behind him in Charbonnet and Damien Martinez. If Walker can prove he's ready, expect a breakout year for Walker if he's made the focal point of the run game and the Seahawks finally make good with rebuilding its line.

It's looking more like Walker isn't going to be as reliable as Kubiak hoped. It means Charbonnet is more than a high-upside contingency play for Walker. He's likely a co-starter with high upside if Walker gets hurt.

An athletic bruiser at 214 pounds. A good player but behind an even better one in Ken Walker.

This could be an interesting year in Seattle at the running back position. Kenneth Walker has trended down since his rookie year, but is Immensely talented. Charbonnet has made the most of his opportunites and even sharing has comsiderable fantasy worth.

If Walker can't hold up, Charbonnet could be a top 15 running back.

Zach Charbonnet will have big role

Seattle Seahawks RB Zach Charbonnet is going to have a significant role in the offense, in the opinion of beat writer Brady Henderson. RB Kenneth Walker III's ongoing availability issues and the way Charbonnet continues to impress the organization suggests that Seattle's backfield could be more of a timeshare than a typical starter-backup arrangement.

Bigger role for Zach Charbonnet?

Seattle Seahawks RB Zach Charbonnet might have a bigger role in the offense in 2025, as the team tries to keep RB Kenneth Walker III healthier. There are ongoing questions about the durability of Walker, while Charbonnet impressed down the stretch last season. It could suggest more of a timeshare than a starter-backup arrangement. 'Zach, he's just a stud,' head coach Mike Macdonald said. 'He's just everything you want in a person and a football player, that's him. He just does it every day.'
