Omarion Hampton is seen as the future at running back for the Chargers. But it wont be in 2025. To fill in that gap the Chargers signed Najee Harris to a lucrative one year deal. And he will earn every cent of that money. Harris is the only back to record 1000 rushing yards in the last four seasons. He should have make it five, if it werent for an unfortunate fireworks incident.

Harris is out for the season with a torn Achilles tendon. He's managed at least 1,000 yards in each of his four previous seasons despite a sub-4.0 yards per carry efficiency. He will have a relevant role when he returns in 2026, but perhaps one that won’t enable him to rush for 1,000 yards a fifth time.
