Cam Skattebo #1 RB, Darnell Mooney #2 WR on new team unofficial depth chart
Jordan Raanan of ESPN reports that on the Giants new unofficial depth chart Cam Skattebo is RB1, with Tyrone Tracy -OR- Najee Harris -OR- Devin Singletary as RB2. Darnell Mooney is listed as the #2 receiver with Malachi Fields and Odell Beckham Jr. listed as backups.
Beat writer 'confident' Skattebo is team RB1 to open season, wouldn't be surprised if Harris takes over at some point
Dan Duggan of The Athletic wrote that he is confident Cam Skattebo will be the No. 1 back for the Giants season opener vs. Cowboys, and he is not sure if the team sees free agent pickup Najee Harris as ready for the No. 2 job in Week 1, but that his sense is that it "won't be long" until Harris is the No. 2 back. After that, Duggan writes that it "wouldn't surprise (him) if Harris becomes the lead back at some point this season".

New York Giants RB Najee Harris is expected to play in the team's final preseason game on Friday, Aug. 28. He has not played since tearing his Achilles in Week 3 of the 2025 season.

New York Giants RB Najee Harris was brought in under the premise that he's going to be a significant contributor, even though a source told ESPN he signed a one-year minimum salary $1.215 million deal with no guaranteed money. The Giants' signing of Harris wasn't in direct response to RB Tyrone Tracy Jr.'s preseason gaffe. The team had been in contact with Harris' representative for months, and the workout was scheduled last week, sources told ESPN.
