With training camp on the horizon, a handful of notable players (Stefon Diggs, Tyreek Hill, Deebo Samuel Sr., Brandon Aiyuk, and others) are still unsigned and searching for a new home. Let's take a look at the best fits for the biggest remaining NFL free agents of 2026, and try to figure out where each of them might sign before the season kicks off.

Fair warning before we dive in: I'm not an NFL insider. I have no sources, no scoops, and no backchannel texts from agents. What I do have is way too much time, a soft spot for NFL free agency, and some thoughts on where the remaining big names might land.
Where Will These WRs Sign?
WR Stefon Diggs --> Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens have depth behind Zay Flowers, but no clear WR2. They also have a history of bringing in aged veterans on short-term deals: DeAndre Hopkins, Odell Beckham Jr., and Sammy Watkins. They invested two draft picks in receivers this year, but Diggs could give them young guys extra time to develop. Despite going into his age-33 season, Diggs showed that he still has some left in the tank, eclipsing 1,000 yards just last season after tearing his ACL the year before. He could be a fun one-year rental as Ja'Kobi Lane and Elijah Sarratt cut their teeth.
WR Deebo Samuel Sr. --> Kansas City Chiefs
With Rashee Rice currently rehabbing his surgically repaired knee in jail, there are a lot of question marks about his return to play. Samuel can operate as the short-field target hog, fighting for yards after the catch. This pairing almost feels too perfect. Samuel's aggressive playstyle leads to injuries, making it hard to rely on him in the long term. But if the Chiefs just need an early-season option while Rice gets back up to speed, Samuel would be the perfect guy.
WR Keenan Allen --> Los Angeles Chargers
(but not how you think)
Allen's production was decent to start the year, but he quickly fell off. He scored in each of his first three games and played under a quarter of the snaps by Week 8. Approaching what would be his age-34 season with an injury history longer than a CVS receipt, he probably has his on-field days behind him. But when his play tapered off last year, he was seen coaching up the young corps of Chargers receivers before, during, and after games. That one year in Chicago was weird. Allen will always be remembered as a Charger and could galvanize that status by joining their coaching staff for the 2026 season. Allen's mind has always been one of his best weapons, and he can pass his wisdom down to the next generation.
WR Brandon Aiyuk --> Washington Commanders
All signs seem to indicate that Aiyuk will join the Commanders at some point. Aiyuk and Jayden Daniels played together at ASU in 2019, and he has been loud about his desire to reunite with his college quarterback. Just a few days ago, he posted a picture on social media of himself in a Commanders hat. The team doesn't have much behind Terry McLaurin, and Aiyuk could serve as an immediate top option in the offense. For this to happen, however, the 49ers must be willing to negotiate a trade. From what we've seen, any energy involving Aiyuk seems to be at the lowest priority of the 49ers' staff. But things change quickly in the NFL, and the Commanders could put together a package that makes the 49ers happy to offload Aiyuk and his baggage.
WR Tyreek Hill --> Las Vegas Raiders
Before he can return to an NFL field, Hill will have to prove that he's healthy enough to play after a devastating dislocated knee ended his 2025 season. The Raiders operated through free agency as if they had the Ravens' 13th overall pick, which they likely intended to use on a receiver. But when the Ravens backed out of the Maxx Crosby deal, they were left with Jalen Nailor as their top receiver. The Raiders have long been infatuated with speed and haven't shied away from boisterous personalities. If Hill proves to be healthy during the season and the Raiders realize they need some extra firepower, a signing here would make a lot of sense.
Where Will These RBs Sign?
RB Najee Harris --> Houston Texans
The Texans have made it clear how they want to manage their backfield. They bring in aging veterans with a strong pedigree on cheap contracts. They weren't scared off by Joe Mixon's foot injury or Nick Chubb's knee injury. Why would they be scared off by Harris' Achilles? Of course, the team already signed David Montgomery. Harris wouldn't step into a lead role here. But Nick Caserio has proven to have a type when it comes to free agent running backs, and he's probably drooling at the thought of adding Harris to a backfield that has very shaky depth behind Montgomery.
RB Austin Ekeler --> YouTube
Another veteran whose season ended with an Achilles tear, Ekeler's path to a return is probably the bleakest on this list. He'll be 31 this year, and his efficiency had started to wane drastically before the injury. There's a chance that a camp or early-season injury somewhere forces a team to call Ekeler, but he's set himself up for a great career beyond his on-field contributions. Ekeler has been a big supporter of fantasy football, going on YouTube shows and podcasts to promote the game. He's always had an endearing personality and hasn't shied away from fan contact. Even if he doesn't return to play, he'll assuredly be embraced by NFL fans in an entertainment role.
RB Kareem Hunt --> New York Giants
There's history between Hunt and the Giants' offensive coordinator, Matt Nagy, who spent a lot of time together in Kansas City. Similarly, head coach John Harbaugh has familiarity with Hunt from their time together in the AFC North, when Hunt was a Brown and Harbaugh coached the Ravens. Hunt isn't the explosive big-play threat he was early in his career, but his strong fundamentals and tenacious style make him a reliable veteran. Cam Skattebo has expressed optimism in an early return, but he'll have to prove that. Tyrone Tracy Jr. has a fun athletic profile, but has yet to win the trust of any NFL coaching staff. Hunt would be a perfect early-season bridge to handle some of the Giants' workload if Skattebo has to start the season on PUP.
