Momentum is a powerful thing, and Lawrence ended the season looking every bit like an elite quarterback. I’ll admit I haven’t always been high on him, but I’m aiming to stay objective here. With more than five years in the league and such inconsistent form over that span, some caution heading into 2026 is reasonable. A sustained breakout at this stage would run counter to most models of when elite quarterbacks typically establish themselves. While some may be more willing to overlook the earlier inconsistency, I’d prefer to see a larger, more consistent sample before fully buying in. That said, his trajectory is worth monitoring closely.

Getting Travis Hunter back after he missed the second half of the season

Lawrence enters his second season under Liam Coen as a high-upside QB1 after a second-half breakout that vaulted him into the elite tier. Was that an anomaly or has he turned the corner as a respectable fantasy quarterback? 

His breakout was legitimate, but it also came against a favorable stretch of opposing defenses. He's a safe fantasy starter, though his current ADP offers limited profit potential unless you expect his nine rushing touchdowns to repeat.

Lawrence finally got an offensive mind that adjusted to his talents in Liam Coen. Although Coen expected to run a vertical passing game with Brian Thomas, Dyami Brown, and Travis Hunter catching deep shots last year, it became clear that Lawrence was not a deep-ball merchant at the pro level. 

Coen pivoted in timely fashion. He traded for Jakobi Meyers and the team extended the veteran's deal. 

Coen promoted Parker Washington to a full-time role, a player who has excellent rapport with Lawrence and has been outplaying options above him on the depth chart for a few years. 

While there's praise for Thomas and Lawrence working on their vertical connection, practice may not translate to the field. Still, expect better connections with the starters all-around and that should translate to a career year for Lawrence with yardage and touchdowns. 

We saw massive steps forward for Lawrence in 2025, but a lot of that was carried by a rushing number, namely nine touchdowns, that doesn't seem repeatable. He will be fine, but unlikely to be in the top-5 again.
