Will the First Coaches Challenge be Successful- Yes
Over the course of the NFL history, only 38% of plays have been overturned with the use of replay. However, in the Super Bowl that is often different from the norm as while it is a small sample size, 56% of plays have been overturned in Super Bowl history. The reason for this is pretty simple, there are far more camera angles in a Super Bowl game than there are in a regular season game, and while we do not have data on first challenges compared to later challenges in the game, one would presume that coaches are a little more cautious early on in the game with using their challenges compared to late in the game where they may get more desperate.
