Top 10 FanDuel DFS Plays for NFL Week 8

Two games share the top of this week's FanDuel main slate. Cardinals at Cowboys and Ravens at Bills are both lined at 54.5, and Dallas carries the highest implied team total of the week at about 30.75 points as a 6.5 to 7 point favorite. Behind them, the Bengals are double digit favorites at home against Tennessee, the Jaguars are big favorites against a Colts team that has started selling off veterans, and Vikings at Lions offers a divisional game with plenty of skill position talent. Below are 10 plays worth building around, plus a bonus tight end, broken down by position with the reasoning behind each one.

Quarterback

Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys, $8,000 (vs. Arizona)

Prescott is the top cash game quarterback on the slate, and the setup is about as clean as it gets. Dallas owns the highest implied total of the week, and Arizona has allowed 19 total touchdowns and the fourth most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks. He threw three touchdowns on only 27 attempts last week, and his track record as a home favorite has been strong for years. The one knock is that his season hasn't been spotless, with as many interceptions as touchdowns over a recent four game stretch and less rushing than in past years. This matchup is the kind that fixes those numbers, and he has CeeDee Lamb, who's earning more than 30 percent of Dallas' targets, to throw to.

Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals, $8,300 (vs. Tennessee)

Burrow is coming off a 4 touchdown game against Baltimore in which the Bengals trailed 13-0 at halftime and then scored 35 unanswered points. That's his fourth straight game beating his salary based expectations. Cincinnati is a 10 point home favorite with an implied total around 28.5, and Tennessee is missing defensive tackle Jeffrey Simmons. The concern with a spread this large is that the Bengals build a lead and lean on Chase Brown late. Even so, Burrow has Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins both playing well, and he's a strong tournament option at a price $300 above Prescott.

Running Back

Jahmyr Gibbs, Detroit Lions, $9,300 (vs. Minnesota)

Gibbs leads the NFL with 166 touches. He's taken 86 percent of Detroit's carries, he's earning an 18 percent target share, and he's already had three monster games this season. The matchup is the toughest he's seen in a while, since Minnesota's defense has been strong all year. Volume like this tends to win out regardless. Detroit is a 3 to 3.5 point favorite with an implied total around 25. He ranks first in projected value among running backs on FanDuel, and he's the most dependable expensive piece on the board.

Bucky Irving, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, $7,300 (vs. Atlanta)

Irving is on a roll. He ran for 106 yards and two touchdowns last week, he's seen 19 or more carries in three straight games, and he's topped 100 yards with a touchdown in two of them. Atlanta has been good against the run by some measures, but it still allows the seventh most fantasy points per game to running backs, largely because it gives up production through the air. Irving's receiving role adds to his floor. Tampa Bay is a slight home favorite, and he projects as one of the best values at the position. He'll be popular, and the workload justifies it.
