Roundtable: Ravens vs. Browns Fantasy Implications

Matt Waldman's Roundtable: Ravens vs. Browns Fantasy Implications Matt Waldman Published 12/14/2022

Welcome to Week 15 of the 2022 Footballguys Roundtable. Our intrepid panel of fantasy pundits discusses and debates four topics every week. Topics are now split into separate features.

This week's roundtable features these four topics:

FANTASY Nightmare: Ravens-Browns

Matt Waldman: This matchup feels like the old Mad Magazine cartoon, Spy vs. Spy and it's a tough one for teams who rode into the playoffs on the coattails of many players on both squads.

Pick two questions from the list to answer:

Where do you stand?

Scott Bischoff: It feels safe to start Dobbins if Brown is starting for the Ravens this week, and even though he looked super stiff and rigid while carrying the ball last week, he was still productive. I am starting him this week, but paying close attention to what he looks like.

Joseph Haggan: I am 100% starting JK Dobbins. Dobbins was right up there with D'Andre Swift as a prospect in what was a stacked running back class. Dobbins, to me at least, seemed like the most complete back with the best vision. In his first full game of action, in what seems like a century, Dobbins showed why he was regarded as such an impressive prospect. He racked up 120 rushing yards at eight yards per carry, adding a touchdown. Adding Anthony Brown as the team's quarterback only makes Dobbins more intriguing with more focus likely on a run-heavy offensive scheme.

Chad Parsons: The lack of receiving involvement for Baltimore running backs over recent years is a huge ceiling-capper for fantasy and Dobbins ran few routes in Week 14. Dobbins would not be an ideal flex option this week.

Craig Lakins: The Ravens' offense will be running the ball quite a bit no matter who the quarterback is. They need to see what Dobbins has in the tank after battling multiple injuries over his short career. Will they be able to rely on him next season? They're going to feed him the ball enough to find out.
