The 2025 campaign is now in full swing. We will focus on waivers and trades until later in the season, when we will transition to players to stash, buy, and sell for the offseason. In today's "Dynasty News," we examine some of the week's larger happenings from a dynasty perspective.
Dynasty News: QB Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals
Kyler Murray missed the Monday night game against Dallas last week. Veteran Jacoby Brissett led the Cardinals to a decisive victory. Later in the week, it was announced that Murray would go on injured reserve.
Jonathan Gannon on why Kyler Murray (foot) is going on IR: "Feel like that's the best thing for him and for us. ... He's not healthy enough to play. He needs to get healthy so he can get back to playing football, so that's what we're doing."

Coach Gannon was asked about Murray's injury and whether they would have turned to Jacoby Brissett, even if Murray was not injured. The coach replied that Brissett would be the starter either way:
Jonathon Gannon tells @BurnsAndGambo that even if Kyler Murray was healthy he was going to make the decision to go to Jacoby Brissett as the starting QB.

General Manager Monti Ossenfort had this to say, “When we put a guy on IR, that’s four weeks away,” Ossenfort said, via ArizonaSports.com. “A lot of things can happen between now and then. I think Jacoby has done a great job of leading our offense. We’re expecting more of the same moving forward. But Jacoby’s put himself in a good spot for where we’re going offensively. When Kyler gets healthy . . . we’ll assess when we get to that point.”
When asked if he thought coach Gannon would be back next season, Benjamin Allbright responded:
I do.

I do believe there will be a new quarterback in Arizona next year though. https://t.co/La3Mnz1MRZ
For those of you dynasty managers wondering about the quarterbacks' respective contracts, Spotrac has the team eating $57,753,177 if Murray is traded after the season. Jacoby Brissett signed a two-year, $12.5 million contract this past March. His total contract value is $12.5 million, with $8 million guaranteed. So, Arizona could trade Murray and move forward with Brissett and a rookie.
Ian Rapoport reported Sunday morning, "In a span of 24 hours, the entire landscape of Arizona's QB situation changed for the foreseeable future. Suddenly, this question was a fair one: Has Murray played his last down for Arizona?
Sources involved in the situation don't have a clear conclusion, and the full answer will come in stages: first weeks and then months. But either way, there will be many conversations after the 2025 season centered around whether to move on from Murray in the offseason. If the Cardinals want to move on, and based on the events of this week, it seems more likely than not, they have several avenues to pursue that. Murray could be released or traded in March, becoming a bridge QB for a contender."
The offense looks much better with Brissett under center. The odds are increasing by the day that Arizona will move on from Murray after the season.
Dynasty News: QB Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers
Brock Purdy has missed most of the season and missed Sunday's game against the Rams. Last week, General Manager John Lynch told his radio audience:
John Lynch on Brock Purdy’s progress:

“The progression is continuing. The last couple weeks, he’s out on the practice field and we try to keep giving him more. He’s making progress. Turf toe is a tough injury. We’ll evaluate at the end of the week.”

After the loss against the Rams on Sunday, coach Shanahan told reporters:
#49ers QB Brock Purdy “could have gone” today as backup according to Kyle Shanahan but Shanahan said he didn’t want to put Purdy in that situation. Shanahan said he wants Purdy as close to 100% as possible before putting him back in. Adds Purdy could have a chance to go at AZ.

We expect Purdy to be back soon, possibly this week. He is a great player to target in dynasty leagues as the receivers are getting healthy.
Dynasty News: QB Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals shocked the football world Monday, announcing that Joe Burrow is coming back soon:
Bengals QB Joe Burrow is returning to practice this week — a major step towards playing again later this season.

Burrow’s recovery from turf toe surgery is on track and now Cincinnati will open Burrow’s 21-day practice window in hopes of having him in action sometime next month. pic.twitter.com/36FhAC1BbB
The Bengals are 3-6 and two games behind the Steelers for the AFC North, and the two teams play this coming Sunday. If Cincinnati can pull off the win in Pittsburgh, the division will be wide open. Their schedule is a tough one, though, with the Patriots, Ravens, Bills, and Ravens as the teams they face in the next four games. However, if the Bengals can stay in the playoff hunt, they will end the season with the Dolphins, Cardinals, and Browns.
Dynasty News: QB Jayden Daniels, Washington Commanders
Jayden Daniels suffered a gruesome injury to his left (non-throwing) shoulder. News broke late last week that he could return this season:
Sources: #Commanders QB Jayden Daniels’ MRI and medical opinions revealed positive news, as his dislocated left elbow is not as serious as originally anticipated. There was no ligament damage & he won't need surgery.
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) November 7, 2025
Daniels will not be immediately placed on Injured Reserve. pic.twitter.com/mB1zZ6D8oj
Rapoport continued:
This was a lengthy and complicated process including multiple opinions, with Jayden Daniels' speaking with some of the nation's experts. And the result was as positive as can be. Daniels' will be reevaluated during the bye week and multiple factors are at play. But good news. https://t.co/NH2OM8mEH8

We still do not expect him back before the fantasy playoffs, especially given the Commanders' record.
